MORE ABOUT OUR WORK
Spot Pocket Opera Theatre (SPOT )'s POCKET-sized ensemble is often spotted creating live OPERA experiences for people who have never been into the THEATRE.
The company has staged 83 performances in 4 years, with a focus on developing new audiences by audience-centric performances in unconventional spaces such as residential town centres, shopping malls, hospitals, office towers and even at a hawker centre among many others.
"I'VE HONESTLY NEVER SEEN SUCH A GENUINELY POSITIVE REACTION TO OPERA IN SINGAPORE"
SPOT is the first company to stage full-length operas at the Esplanade Concourse: Così fan tutte (Mozart); The Blind Beggars (Horovitz). On top of that, a ticketed 4-show production of Le 66 (Offenbach) successfully brought in new audiences to the theatre.
"RICH TONES AND IMPECCABLE VOCALS FROM THE ENSEMBLE BROUGHT THE HOUSE DOWN"
The Borneo Post (20/2/17)
In 2017, the company successfully sold out vocal recitals in Singapore and Kuching, with the latter earning a personal invitation from then-State-Secretary of Sarawak, Tan Sri Morshidi Abdul Ghani, to perform at a private event in the state.
SPOT has accepted invitations to perform at the Istana, University Cultural Centre, Singapore Institute of Technology for local state leaders.
